ABOUT   THE   AUTHOR

Anthony R. Stewart, Jr., J.D., is an accomplished author, philosopher, historian, and legal scholar. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Milton High School before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. There, he attended Morehouse College, where he majored in Philosophy with a focus on Africana and Legal Studies. Stewart went on to earn his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Stewart's research examines the parallels between American slave patrols and modern-day police forces, exploring their shared origins in American society. Stewart has worked extensively on post-conviction cases as a mitigation specialist for death row inmates in Texas. Driven by a deep commitment to justice and equitable retribution, Stewart is a passionate advocate for critical race theory and a dedicated proponent of Black studies.

IN THE PRESS

This book is a profound exploration of the radical abolitionist movement and the abolition of slavery in America. The author doesn’t shy away from the brutal realities of slavery but instead challenges readers to confront them head-on.
